The critically acclaimed Bon Appétit Restaurant has been bringing exquisite cuisine, top-notch service, and breathtaking views to Dunedin and Tampa Bay since opening on the coastline in 1976. Guests enjoy panoramic views of St. Joseph’s Sound and a stunning vista that includes Honeymoon Island, Caladesi Island, and Clearwater Beach.
Featuring an award-winning menu with an emphasis on seafood and international cuisine, Chef Klaus and his team focus on highlighting simple, fresh ingredients. Throughout the busy season (January – May), the kitchen team will premiere special entrées and desserts every other week – a testament to their creative eye and signature style. A full lunch and dinner menu is always available for both our indoor dining room, as well as our outdoor bar and marina café.
Eating outside at Bon Appétit is a quintessential component of the Dunedin experience. In addition to the welcome gulf breeze and abundance of adult beverages, you may even be joined by a pod of curious dolphins cruising the coast. Be sure to join us in the evening to take in the world-famous Dunedin sunset, either in this outdoor casual setting or our romantic main dining room.
Peter Kreuziger and Karl Riedl opened the restaurant over 45 years ago when Dunedin was a far cry from the community we know and love today. “There were parking meters on Main Street with no cars, the buildings were boarded up and there were tumbleweeds blowing through the street,” says Peter (and other longtime Dunedin business owners). “When we opened Bon Appétit, we were the only restaurant from here to Countryside.” In those four-plus decades, Peter and Karl transformed not only the Dunedin community (as they purchased additional properties and brought new life to the City) but the Tampa Bay food scene with their bold and iconic European cuisine.
In addition to regular lunch and dinner service, Bon Appétit is renowned for its fabulous events, led by our on-site events team. Weddings on the pier, private birthday parties, and holiday celebrations are just the tip of the iceberg. Nancy and her banquet staff have hosted everything from baby showers to celebrations of life, and everything in between. Several times a year, the events team works with our kitchen and management teams to put on spectacular holiday dinners for our guests – these include Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve & Day, New Year’s Eve, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Easter, and Father’s Day.
