You two have had some important talks and it’s time to ask the big question. You’re all set to propose — except you don’t know where to do it. It can’t just be anywhere! It needs to be memorable. You’re in luck, we know of several wonderful spots in the Clearwater, Florida area to propose!
Clearwater Beach: If you’re proposing while you’re on vacation, this would be the perfect place to go. You can let her think it’s a regular beach vacation when you’re really building up to the main event.
Bon Appétit’s Waterside Table for Two Dinner: Enjoy a private waterfront dinner in Dunedin, Florida at Bon Appetit Restaurant. A delicious four-course meal, accompanied by champagne and a stunning sunset, who wouldn’t say yes?! Proposing here wouldn’t be anything like the usual restaurant proposal – what other restaurant would give you the same privacy and view? This is one proposal story you’ll love sharing for years to come.
Caladesi Island: Hoping for a more relaxed proposal setting? Or are you and your future spouse fans of the great outdoors? We know JUST the place. Caladesi Island is part of the Florida State Parks service and the entire island showcases Florida’s natural beauty. Walk along the expansive white sand beach, collect seashells and when the time is right, ask the big question with the Gulf of Mexico as your background. A few things to note, Caladesi Island is only accessible by boat. Which means if you don’t have a boat, you’ll want to take the ferry from Honeymoon Island. The ferry runs every hour, weather permitting and closes just before sunset. If you’re hoping to pop the question with the sun setting, we recommend choosing a beach accessible via land/car, like Caladesi’s sister island, Honeymoon.
Honeymoon Island: Honeymoon Island, so much to say, so little time! First off, let’s give you a brief history lesson on the Island’s name. In the 1930’s and 40’s, Honeymoon Island was owned by a millionaire who created a Honeymoon contest for newlyweds. Winners of the contest had the opportunity to stay in their own one room hut (there were several on the island) for a week, hence the name Honeymoon Island!
Fast forward a few decades and the island huts are long gone, but the Honeymoon name and tradition of love remains. Honeymoon Island is popular beach wedding venue and hosts hundreds of weddings each year. In addition, couples can enjoy a relaxing day at the beach, kayak around the island or even enjoy a private beachside dinner for two.
Hoping to include your fur-baby in the proposal? Honeymoon Island has a wonderful pet beach. Tell your soon-to-be fiancée you just want to take the dog for a walk on the beach – it’s the perfect set up to totally surprise them with your proposal!!
Sand Key Beach: Love Clearwater Beach, but don’t want the crowd that comes with it for a proposal? Sand Key Beach is the perfect choice! You’ll have the same stunning views with a smaller (and therefore, quieter) crowd, making the moment feel more private.
Downtown Dunedin: If you two are into long walks or bike rides, use the Pinellas Trail and make your way to downtown Dunedin. This charming town has plenty of small shops and restaurants to explore and if you come during the weekend, there could be a craft festival or farmer’s market to check out. If you and your special someone love small towns, downtown Dunedin is a great place to propose. You’re never more than a short walk to the waterfront, a perfect backdrop.
Wow, those are some great options right? Tell us, which one sounds perfect for your dream proposal in the comments below.
